Central Park Flagpoles
Challenge
Working in a busy public park posed several challenges. Tight access for lifts, constant foot traffic, and protecting nearby landscaping required careful coordination. Ensuring full compliance with OSHA and NYC Parks safety standards added complexity, but we stayed focused and completed the work without incident.
Solution
Central Park Conservancy is seeking the maintenance painting of three of its memorial flagpoles. The flagpoles’ adjoining bases require adequate protection to be installed during the work, or in the case of A. below, requires it to be suitably prepared and painted. The height of the flagpoles will require a manlift to access all surfaces for maintenance painting. Adequate measures must be taken to prevent damage to bases, adjacent structures and the landscape, and to provide crowd control around the site.
